    • The choice of grain direction can affect how well a printed piece maintains its shape and appearance.
    • Improper grain direction may lead to issues like curling, waviness, or poor registration during printing.

    • Folding against the grain can result in cracking and an uneven appearance.
  3. Strength and Durability:

How to Identify :

  1. Bend Test:
    • Gently bend the paper in both directions. The side that bends more easily and with less resistance is likely along the grain.
  2. Tear Test:
    • Tear a small piece from the edge of the paper. If it tears easily and cleanly, it is likely tearing along the grain.
  3. Observation:
    • Look for any visible texture or pattern on the surface of the paper. Often, the grain direction is visible under certain lighting conditions.
